Ferme Nordvie: Strawberry Picking & Gourmet Agritourism in Témiscamingue

Visit to Nordvie Farm, a fruit and vegetable farm offering pick-your-own strawberries.
Claudine Gagné

How about eating a fresh strawberry, picked straight from the field, warmed by the Témiscamingue sun…? Does that sound appealing?

At Ferme Nordvie in Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues, it’s exactly this kind of simple moment when a strawberry becomes so much more than just a fruit.

It’s a season we look forward to, a field filling up, hands picking… and memories being made.

A stop at Ferme Nordvie means picking your own strawberries, yes. But above all, it’s a way to experience the region, one strawberry at a time.

A family farm with deep roots in Témiscamingue

Nordvie is, first and foremost, a family story.

The story of Normand Olivier and Sylvie Côté, who began growing strawberries in the 1980s in Témiscamingue. A bold venture, at the northern limit of what is possible in agricultural production.

Today, their daughter Madeleine has taken up the torch alongside her partner.

Same land. Same passion.
But with a vision that continues to evolve.

When you arrive, you visit a farm—but that’s not all. You step into the daily life of a farmer, where everything still revolves around the seasons and the weather.

Strawberry picking: a summer classic in Témiscamingue

The best way to discover Ferme Nordvie?
It’s to taste it for yourself.

Strawberry picking is an experience in itself. You walk between the rows, fill your basket, and taste them as you go. Fresh, sweet strawberries.

As Madeleine Olivier says: “You’ve never tasted a real strawberry in your life if you haven’t eaten it warm in the sun.”

And honestly? She’s right.

Here, pick-your-own is a tradition. Families come back year after year. Grandparents, kids, friends.

A simple, yet inspiring moment.

Organic Farming, With a Different Approach

At Ferme Nordvie, all products are certified organic. But beyond the label, it’s a vision.

Strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb, vegetables…
Everything is grown with respect for the soil and the ecosystem.

We don’t strive for perfection in a field.
Rather, we seek balance.

A living field is dynamic. It breathes.
And you can feel it—both in the taste and in the experience.

Find Ferme Nordvie off the farm

During the summer season, you can also run into the Ferme Nordvie team at several farmers’ markets in the region. It’s the perfect time to:

  • get your hands on fresh fruits and vegetables
  • discover their processed products (drinks, salts, herbal teas, and more)
  • chat directly with the people behind the farm

A farm that continues to evolve

Over the years, Nordvie has never stopped reinventing itself.

New products, new ideas, projects in development. Always with the same goal: to make the most of what grows here, without wasting a thing.

So, whether you’re on a road trip through Témiscamingue or just passing through the area, Ferme Nordvie is a must-visit.

Every visit is a little different from the last.
And that’s what makes you want to come back.

You’ll probably leave with stained fingers…
and a smile to boot.
