Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue, founded in 1978, has a mandate to accommodate, promote and develop tourism experiences in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. As part of a memorandum of understanding, the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec officially recognizes Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue as a regional organization

With the support of its many members and partners in the region, Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue brings an exceptional expertise contributing to the enhancement of the region’s attractiveness and offering the opportunity to live unique and memorable experiences.

Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue is associated with the World Center of Excellence for Destinations (CED), which was created with the support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The corporate strategic planning of TAT is based on the recommendations of CED and UNWTO; the CULTURAT initiative is part of it.

Tourism Abitibi-Témiscamingue acts as a driving force for the valorization of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, of structuration of its touristic offer, pride and attractivity, in a spirit of innovation and creativity. Tourism Abitibi-Témiscamingue focuses the attention of all parties involved in tourism on the citizens’ quality of life and making tourism a locomotive-leading development that manifestly strengthens the destination’s durability as well as the well-being of the local welcoming communities
