Nature Interpretation Trails of the École Buissonnière

Start your nature getaway on the right foot in Dubuisson by exploring the 3 km of trails at the École Buissonnière.

You’ll head into the Piché-Lemoyne forest, a magical setting dotted with marshes, peaceful viewpoints, and interpretive panels. Each trail—Vigneault, Leclerc, and Desjardins—offers a unique perspective on the area: one highlights local wildlife, while the others teach you more about regional plant life. Make the most of the observation platforms to take a moment and soak in the surrounding nature. And if you feel like it, stop by the nearby Parc forestier des Explorateurs to enjoy a riverside picnic along the Piché River.

Forêt ornithologique Askikwaj (Ornithological Forest)

Continue your journey towards the Forêt Ornithologique Askikwaj, a true sanctuary of nature. Located near La Corne, this conservation site invites you to explore the trails where you can discover the rich and diversified wildlife. Stroll on the Sentier des Belvédères (des Belvédères Trail) for breathtaking views on the Lacs Malartic (Lake Malartic) and La Motte (Lake La Motte), or take the Sentier des Oiseaux (des Oiseaux Trail) to observe many bird species. Come explore a garden created more than 20 years ago, where over 1 200 varieties of trees, bushes, and perennials shape a true haven of greeneries. Stop by the store, visit the barn overflowing with antiques and admire the exhibition of artworks evoking the colonization of Abitibi.
