This circuit leads you to the heart of the protected territories of Abitibi-Témiscamingue. You will first go through the Réserve faunique La Vérendrye (Wildlife Reserve), then across the Parc national d’Aiguebelle (National Park), and afterwards, the Parc national d’Opémican (National Park), or in reverse order depending on where you arrive from!
The “Get Lost in the Woods” Circuit, it’s a canoe-camping experience that lasts for days, fine sand beaches, well guarded secret fishing spots, and kilometers of trail to hike. It’s also more than 15 000 km2 of playground awaiting you. With more than 4 000 lakes and rivers, we bet that you will find a quiet spot just for you in our national parks!

The Réserve Faunique La Vérendrye
The Réserve Faunique La Vérendrye is the ideal spot for a canoe-camping excursion. With its 800 km of well cared for courses and more than 500 camping sites, this reserve offers to its visitors an authentic experience at the heart of a wild nature. To discover one of the best fishing and camping spots, plan a stay at the Camping Baie des Sables (Baie des Sables Camping), 100 km away from Val-d’Or. Then keep going towards one of our national parks, the Parc national d’Aiguebelle. Explore its territory spreading from Rouyn-Noranda to Abitibi-Ouest (Abitibi-West).

The Parc National d’Aiguebelle
The Parc National d’Aiguebelle invites you to an adventure at the heart of a preserved nature. Load your canoe and your essentials and go on an adventure on the paddling course of the Lac La Haie and the Lac Sault, a perfect itinerary to discover the panorama of the fault lakes, offering breathtaking landscapes and a great sport challenge for the adventurers. If you prefer to explore the territory on foot on the hiking trails, the Sentier de la Traverse will have you cross a suspended bridge, discover different geological elements such as volcanic pillow lavas formations and giants’ pots, all of this while you can immerse yourself into the tranquility of this exceptional nature.
