La montagne à Fred

This hillock, rich in history, used to form a small island in the former Ojibway-Barlow Sea more than 8,500 years ago. Its vast rocky land is dotted with small jack pines. The trail runs through a fabulous river of rocks. Thousands of years ago, when the Ojibway-Barlow Sea still covered the area, the ice sheets moving towards the island carried huge rocks in the wintertime. In the summertime, the waves swept small rocks and sand away from the island.
