Whether you arrive from the South of Quebec or from Ontario, you will be welcomed with a truly astonishing nature: the Réserve Faunique La Vérendrye (La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve) in the Vallée-de-l’Or, or the Parc National d’Opémican (Opémican’s National Park) in Témiscamingue. And, if you keep going North, you will fall under the spell of the Parc National d’Aiguebelle (Aiguebelle’s National Park), well known beyond our frontiers. Guillaume Rivest speaks of the forest as the place where he grew up—literally. Originally from Bellecombe, on the outskirts of Rouyn-Noranda, he was introduced from a young age to the joys of hunting, fishing, expeditions, and campfires. However, it was when he left the region to pursue his studies that he truly realized how important access to nature and its treasures was to him.
